GFKL sponsors the canoeists of KG Essen, who regularly take the podium at the Olympic Games, World Championships and in German competitions. GFKL supports Rupert Wagner (Vice-European Champion and Vice-World Champion), Tomasz Wylenzek (Olympia winner 2004) and Jonas Ems (Junior World Champion 2004 und Vice-World Champion 2005), who concentrate on the Olympic Games 2008 in China.
