GFKL takes over ID Innovative Datenverarbeitung GmbH

• Expansion of software portfolio with ID solutions for the insurance sector
• Continuation of cooperation with IBM as Advanced Business Partner

Essen, March 02, 2007 - With the takeover of ID Innovative Datenverarbeitung GmbH (ID), GFKL Financial Services AG is continuing to expand its software business. Founded in 1991, the Kevelaer-based company develops and distributes software components for financial service providers, especially for the insurance sector. Applications from ID are currently used in Germany and 14 other European countries.
ID is an Advanced Business Partner of IBM in the area of standard software for insurance companies with composite insurance lines. As part of this cooperation, ID receives project, sales and marketing support from IBM. This cooperation will remain unaffected by the takeover.
The acquired company employs 75 personnel. The company founder and managing director Rudolf Beerden and managing director Wolf-Dieter Schulz-Engelke will stay in the company management. Co-founder and managing director to date Herbert Ophey will leave the company.
ID’s products include the aiDa solutions family: proven basic software which supports all major business processes in an insurance company, from the design/modeling of new insurance products via the issue of offers and preparation of policies to claims handling, representative management and invoicing, collection/disbursement and accounting.
