Software and Systems: Technological Backbone

Our Leasing and Collection segments have generated a high degree of competence in shaping IT-supported workflows in the financial services sector. Therefore, the software and systems divisions complement GFKL’s business model in a sensible manner. The IT solutions developed by us help companies structure their work processes efficiently, regardless of whether these relate to loan and receivables management in the credit business or to sales and back-office activities in the insurance sector.

Tapping Potential for Optimization

Whether as part of detailed consultations for small companies or intensive consulting projects for major financial service providers: the first step is to identify optimization potential in cooperation with the companies concerned. In which phase of a business process does a client lose money, for example through flaws in the company’s risk management? And where can staff be relieved of routine activities? The next step deals with the question “how”. The goal is to find the best-fitting solution for the client by means of a profitability analysis. Most important factor during the analysis: which approach yields the highest return on investment? In view of the breadth of our client base, the answers will naturally vary widely.

Using Ideally Suited Products

Small or medium-sized companies are best served by compact all-in-one systems, for example in the form of an online portal solution which can be used without additional investments in software or hardware. In this sector, the GFKL Group offers a wide spectrum of professional services ranging from credit and business information and applications for electronic court orders to modules for transferring open receivables to GFKL’s collection specialists. With this, users have great freedom of choice at all times as to how far they want to handle tasks using their own resources and at which point they would like to outsource receivables processing.

In larger companies and corporations, the task is to integrate specialized software applications in the existing IT environment. GFKL’s applications for automated dunning procedures, both in court and out of court, can be integrated seamlessly into standard ERP systems, which usually end once an invoice has been factored. Moreover, companies of this size do not make use of our credit and information services by means of individual online queries, but integrate them directly into their inventory management systems via an XML interface. In this way, address validations may for instance be carried out largely automatically by means of batch processing. This method may also be used to transfer open receivables to our collection specialists.

Continuous Process Organization

The strategic platforms of our subsidiaries ABIT and GENEVA-ID provide comprehensive processing systems for banks and insurance companies. The product suite ABIT Banknology©, for example, covers the entire credit process on the basis of a standard data model: from the loan inquiry via application consent to the restructuring and handling of non-performing commitments. GENEVA-ID’s solutions cover all important areas in the insurance sector, whether sales support, process and cost optimization between inside and outside sales, contract and claims administration or commission invoicing. In all, compliance with prevalent IT standards and the use of sophisticated IT architectures guarantee our clients in the banking and insurance sectors great flexibility in the configuration of the modular process solutions.

Modern Infrastructure Financing

Parallel to its multifarious software applications, the GFKL Group also provides suitable hardware solutions combined with innovative services through its Systems segment. GFKL’s life-cycle management covers the entire value chain of the systems business: from financing, installation and maintenance of computers to the remarketing of used systems. In the financing sector, we rely on our expertise as a leasing company, thus closing the circle in our business model. Our innovative use-dependent IT leasing models enable our clients to plan their expenses reliably and transform fixed costs into variable costs. In the German insurance sector, one in every four workplaces is already equipped with GFKL systems.
