Our Personnel: Partnering for Success!
Over the last five years, the number of our staff has increased six-fold from 434 to 2,624. Progressively, the GFKL Group has expanded to incorporate new companies. At the same time, strong organic growth has enabled us to create a large number of additional jobs, 100 of them in 2007 alone. In this rapid growth process, a joint corporate culture, good opportunities for personal development and our social commitment support the formation of team spirit.
Our Corporate Principles
The creation of internal and external interest-combining structures is the overriding goal of our nine corporate principles. It is crucial to recognize opportunities, accept responsibility and to find solutions oriented on the interests of all parties. In order to reinforce these principles and strengthen the joint corporate culture, GFKL carries out an annual 270-degree feedback, which is based on the criteria of our corporate principles. In this way, we firstly promote communication between personnel and between employees and management. At the same time, we gain insights into opportunities for organizational and personal development.
Opportunities for Personal Development
The GFKL Group offers entry and development opportunities for performance-oriented entrepreneurial thinkers at every stage of their career. Young people just out of school can choose from a variety of apprenticeships in commercial administration and IT professions. Our trainee program in the leasing sector is designed for personnel and applicants who have just graduated or who have already gained their first professional experience. Participants receive intensive preparation for sales activities as part of a 12 to 18-month development program. In this way, they profit from the diversity of the GFKL Group and become acquainted with the various company segments and locations. Anyone who has been working for GFKL for a long time – and there are many who have been doing so as the fluctuation rate is low – is offered a wide range of advanced training measures by our Competence Center. All in all, GFKL invested approximately one million euros in personnel training during 2007.
Joint Commitment
GFKL supports a number of non-commercial and charitable institutions at its home base in Essen, not only financially, but also with active joint commitment. In collaboration with the Volunteer Agency in Essen, GFKL personnel have assumed sponsorship for children from underprivileged social environments. In May 2008, almost 70 athletic GFKLians will be taking part in a marathon run. For every kilometer each of them runs, cash will flow to a children’s home in Essen. Up-and-coming sporting talent is also close to our hearts. GFKL sponsors promising young athletes, especially in canoeing. Through all of this, the goal remains the same: partnering for success!
